Heart disease is a bothering condition these day for most mid age adults these days. It imposes lots of restrictions in terms of food and also poses a lot of health restrictions on the individual.
Research has shown that Amla significantly improved their HDL levels and reduced their LDL cholesterol. Most medicine that you take to increase HDL also increases LDL as well, something no ones wants, Amla is an exception to it.
One of my friends recently tried Amla juice for a three month , fresh one to be precise, not packed ones. When he went for cholesterol test, Voila , his cholesterol reduced by 25 points. He said that was the only thing that he did differently in last 3 months. May be or may be not that was the reason for reduction in his cholesterol level, that he trying to reduce from past 2 years. I do not claim that did it, but i think there is no harm in trying a herb that has so many protective properties. Even if you do not reduce the cholesterol significantly, you will have multiple other benefits too to your health.
Amla is a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-piretic . There are multiple benefit is Indian gooseberry and acts protectively against cardiovascular diseases. It also regulates the blood sugar.
Indian medical system is called Ayurveda. As per Ayurveda, amla fruit has five taste. It has sour,,astringent , sweet , bitter and pungent taste in it. It is typical fruit , probably the only fruit that has five tastes.
I have to admit that it ios not a easy fruit to eat. You just cant eat it like any other fruit as it has a very typical taste. Don't agree with me, try it out :)-.
There are several ways to take amla is juice, powdered form, dried form etc. But, the way i enjoy the most is like mouth freshener. Recipe is as below.
